One of the big changes in the suspension world in 2014 will be Weitec adopting the name of KW's American branch and becoming ST Suspensions.
To sum it up in one line, ST Suspensions (originally called Suspension Techniques) is a Californian company active since the 1980s which very quickly established itself as one of the benchmarks on the American continent for lowering cars with its spring kits, anti-roll bars and suspension kits. In 2005 the German manufacturer KW, keen to strengthen its presence in the USA, bought the company and launched the range we know in Europe as Weitec under the ST Suspensions name. In 2014, in order to unify the two brands, Weitec will become ST Suspensions.
As for the current Weitec range, the only change to expect is the names: the Weitec GT and TX become the ST X and XA respectively, and the rest of the recipe is unchanged: coilovers that take on the strengths of the KW V1 and V2, the only difference being the choice of materials, notably the use of galvanised steel instead of stainless steel, which makes it possible to offer high-quality coilovers at an affordable price.
On the other hand, we will very soon benefit from new products such as the new ST XTA coilovers, which are new damping-adjustable coilovers with aluminium camber top mounts for settings even better suited to your driving style.
The range is also completed by new anti-roll bars which draw on all of ST's expertise in the field in the USA, as well as new wheel spacers, available in polished aluminium or black anodised. These wheel spacers are also made in Germany, like the rest of the ST Suspensions and KW range.
These new products will be available in our shop at launch during the first quarter of 2014 and we will be sure to keep you informed! In the meantime, you can discover the technical specifications of the ST-Suspensions products
