Engine Tuning

Engine Tuning

Want to give your vehicle that little extra? We have a fine selection of performance parts designed to increase your vehicle's performance.

Engine tuning by brand

Best engine tuning parts: the best sellers in Switzerland

Engine tuning by vehicle: most searched

We offer APR engine remaps for VAG Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche), together with suitable quality parts such as carbon intakes, inlets, outlets, turbo muffler deletes, intercoolers, dump valves and turbos.

Given the complexity of engine tuning, we have placed our trust only in the biggest brands.

Engine tuning: remapping, ignition and performance parts

APR ECU remapping

We offer APR remaps for Volkswagen Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Seat, Cupra, Skoda, Porsche depending on the model). How the stages work:

  • Stage 1: software only, on a standard engine.
  • Stage 2: software designed for supporting parts, such as a downpipe, an intake or an intercooler.

The exact content of each stage depends on the engine: it is detailed on the product page for your vehicle.

DSG gearbox

A DSG gearbox remap adapts its torque limits to the remapped engine and can shorten gear changes. It is often recommended alongside an engine remap: the product page lists the compatible gearboxes.

Like the engine, the gearbox needs regular servicing: the oil change follows the manufacturer's schedule.

Ignition: coils and spark plugs

A tuned engine runs with more pressure in the cylinders. Colder spark plugs (a higher heat range number at NGK, for example APR Iridium Pro) shed heat better and limit knock.

Uprated ignition coils (APR, Dinan) replace the original coils: misfires under heavy load are often the sign of a tired coil or spark plug.

Matching parts

More power also means more air, more heat and more energy to stop:

  • Intake: kits, intercoolers and charge pipes.
  • Exhaust: downpipes and full systems.
  • Brakes: sport pads, braided brake lines, big brake kits.
  • Suspension: to keep the car stable.

Homologation, insurance and warranty

A power increase changes your vehicle's data: in Switzerland, it must be reported to the cantonal road traffic office and, depending on the case, inspected before the car is driven on public roads. Let your insurer know too. The manufacturer's warranty may be limited on modified components.

Find out more on our Homologations page or contact us before ordering.

Workshop and DSG servicing in Geneva

Our workshop in Aïre advises you on your project and fits parts bought from Rupteur. A DSG gearbox oil change (DQ250, DQ380, DQ500) is offered at a fixed price of CHF 390.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Stage 1 remap?

Engine software designed for a standard engine, with no other parts to change. The following stages (Stage 2…) require supporting parts. The stated figures appear on the product page for your vehicle.

Is a remap legal in Switzerland?

A change in power must be reported to the cantonal road traffic office and, depending on the case, inspected before the car is driven on public roads. Find out before fitting: Homologations.

Which spark plugs for a remapped engine?

Often colder plugs than the original ones, recommended by the tuner for your engine and stage. Use the specified electrode gap.

What are uprated ignition coils for?

They replace the original coils and deliver a stable spark under heavy load. They are useful when the original coils show misfires, on a standard engine as well as a tuned one.

Does the DSG gearbox need remapping too?

It is often recommended, so that the gearbox can handle the extra torque and change gear faster. It depends on the engine and the stage chosen: see the product page.
